What is Baslins?
+
Baslins is a go-to-market and commercialisation consultancy for mining technology and METS (mining equipment, technology and services) companies. We help technology businesses decide where their product creates the most value, who will buy it first and what proof those buyers need, then turn that into positioning, content and marketing leadership. Baslins is led by Marina Baslina and registered in the UK as Baslins Ltd.
What does METS mean in mining?
+
METS stands for mining equipment, technology and services. It covers companies that supply specialised products, technology and services across the mining value chain, from exploration, development and extraction to processing, transport and remediation. The term is most widely used in Australia, where METS is a recognised industry sector. Examples range from equipment makers and engineering firms to exploration software, sensor and automation companies. Baslins works with the technology end of METS: companies whose product has to win adoption at mine sites.
Which mining technology categories does Baslins work with?
+
Baslins works across the mining technology stack, from early-stage mining tech startups to established METS suppliers. Categories include mineral exploration technology, such as AI targeting, satellite remote sensing and passive seismic geophysics (VRIFY, TerraEye, CAUR); mining software, data and AI for exploration and operations; processing and metallurgy, such as rock breakage testing for comminution (Geopyörä); water and wastewater treatment for mine sites (Newterra); safety and compliance, including functional safety (exida); and mining finance and investment (Stormlands Mining, International Resources Holding).
How does Baslins approach marketing for mining technology companies?
+
We start with the commercial questions that come before marketing: where the technology creates measurable value on a mine site, which buyers feel that problem most, and what proof they need before they adopt. Then we make that visible where mining buyers already look, through founder-led LinkedIn content, technical articles, case studies, conference presence and sales material written for operators, technical teams and budget holders. Generic digital marketing built for consumer or SaaS markets rarely works here, because buying decisions in mining involve several stakeholders and long evaluation cycles. The work is senior-led rather than handed to a junior account team.
What does a Baslins engagement look like?
+
There are three formats. A go-to-market strategy project covers segments, use cases, positioning, messaging and the plan for reaching the first buyers. A content and visibility programme runs founder-led LinkedIn content, thought leadership, case studies and reports. Fractional CMO support gives you senior marketing leadership without a full-time hire. Strategy usually comes first, because it decides what the content and campaigns should say.
How do we start working with Baslins?

Email marinab@baslins.pro with what you are building, who it is for and where you are getting stuck. We start with a short call, then propose the format that fits: a strategy project, a content programme or fractional CMO support.
